Block List Information

This page will cover each part of HomeCord's Block List system, which can be used by Server Managers to prevent items from being featured or highlighted to their Server's Home Channel.

By "Server Managers", we mean those with at minimum the "Manage Server" Permission.

This is also the default Permission requirement needed to be able to use the /block, /unblock, and /blocklist Commands covered on this page.

If you have any Server App logging Channels in your Server, and want to help HomeCord, you can revoke the "View Channel" Permission from HomeCord in those logging Channels.

This won't stop your Moderators & Admins from manually featuring those logs (unless added to the Block List), but it does help massively reduce the amount of Messages HomeCord receives!

Block List: Commands

To support bulk-adding or bulk-removing items to/from your Server's Block List in HomeCord, the /block and /unblock Commands don't have any options in their initial Commands.

Instead, you have to first run the Command in chat, which will then present you with a searchable dropdown you can use to add/remove up to 25 items at once.

Block List: Channels

When a Channel is added to HomeCord's Block List, the following items from that specific Channel are prevented from being featured or highlighted to your Home:

  • Messages sent within the Channel

  • Messages sent inside Threads/Posts within the Channel

  • Threads/Posts created within the Channel

Block List: Categories

When a Category is added to the Block List, the following are prevented from being highlighted or featured to your Home:

  • Messages sent in any Channels within that Category

  • Messages sent within any Threads/Posts made in Channels in that Category

  • Threads/Posts made in any Channels within that Category

Blocking whole Categories instead of individual Channels may be useful when you want to block more than 25 specific Channels - such as your logging Channels, your Moderator-only Channels, etc.

Block List: Roles

When a Role is added to the Block List, then any Member in your Server with that Role will have their Messages prevented from being featured or highlighted in your Home.

This may be useful for punishment Roles, or if you have a group of Members you don't want to showcase their Messages of (such as if you want to protect certain Members, or have another non-negative or negative reason for blocking a Role).
